Welcome to The Croydon Project
A bold new vision for Croydon Town Centre
The Croydon Project reimagines the heart of Croydon as a more vibrant, connected and community-focused place for everyone. It encompasses the anticipated transformation of the Centrale, Allders and Whitgift Centre sites to revitalise central Croydon with homes, public spaces and better connections alongside refreshed retail, F&B and leisure in a re-positioned town centre.
Through a series of successful public consultations, in partnership with our NextGen Panel – local voices powered by Croydon’s unique character and creative energy are helping shape the ambitious masterplan and input into the future designs for the URW estate and the surrounding area.
September 2025 saw a key milestone for The Croydon Project as ‘Allders Parade’, a curated line-up of shops and dining offers, launched at the much loved and iconic Allders department store building, marking a fresh chapter in Croydon’s retail story. Over the longer term we foresee more extensive plans to reimagine the whole Allders site, where shops, culture, learning and entertainment can come together with heritage and community at the core.
We are also thrilled that the Mayor of Croydon and Croydon Council are investing in North End, the adjacent high street to bring a new sense of safety and quality to this much loved shopping destination.
From the cultural diversity that defines London’s largest and youngest borough, to the independent businesses across the town centre, this is a place where creativity, collaboration and community will come together. We’re building more than a town centre. We’re showing what a city can be.
