Celebrating culture and community in Croydon this October

Allders Parade opening weekend

As part of The Croydon Project’s ongoing commitment to championing culture and creativity, October has been full of vibrant celebrations at the Centrale & Whitgift centres, with a programme of events marking Black History Month, Halloween, and Diwali.

In partnership with the Windrush Generation Legacy Association, a month-long art exhibition showcasing over 100 works by emerging Black artists and global majority allies, under the theme “Standing Firm in Power and Pride”, was launched. More highlights included a Black Traders Market hosted by Choice FM’s DJ Marcus and Lady Empress, and a live stage show on 25 October in Whitgift Square.

Family-friendly Halloween and Diwali activities have rounded out the month, celebrating Croydon’s creative and diverse community. Find out more at the links below for more information.
