A year of progress: reflecting on The Croydon Project in 2025
As we move into 2026, the past year stands out as an important period of progress for The Croydon Project. Throughout 2025, we took important steps forward in shaping a bold new vision for Croydon Town Centre.
From planning progress to new activity at Allders, the year laid strong foundations for the next phase of work.
Masterplan Framework endorsed
In February, a major milestone was reached when the Masterplan Framework was endorsed by Croydon Council’s Planning Committee. This followed a period of public consultation on the draft framework in late 2024, during which residents, businesses and community groups shared valuable feedback.
The updated framework reflects those conversations and sets out a clear, coordinated vision for the future of the town centre, providing a solid platform to build from as our proposals continue to evolve.

Empowering young voices through the NextGen Panel
March marked the launch of the NextGen Panel, bringing together young people aged 16–25 from across Croydon. The panel plays a vital role in ensuring that young people have a voice to directly shape The Croydon Project, contributing ideas rooted in local knowledge, lived experience and future aspirations.
Since its launch, the panel has already helped inform thinking around the town centre, ensuring our proposals are inclusive, relevant and forward-looking.

Shaping the early vision together
The responses received during this period have been instrumental in helping to refine proposals and inform the ongoing development of the masterplan, reinforcing the importance of collaboration shaping proposals that reflect Croydon’s unique character and creative energy.

A new chapter at Allders Parade
September saw the public opening of Allders Parade, with a carefully curated mix of shops and dining offers welcoming visitors back to this historic site. The launch marked a significant milestone for The Croydon Project, supporting the revitalisation of the town centre and bringing new life back to the iconic Allders building.
Looking ahead
These milestones reflect a year of progress, grounded in partnership, shaped by community input and focused on long-term positive change for the town centre. With work already underway in the town centre and much more still to come, the progress made in 2025 has created momentum towards delivering a bold new town centre for Croydon.
