Croydon Gaming Festival is coming to Centrale

Centrale is gearing up for four days of gaming, technology and digital creativity this October half-term as Next Level brings together young people, local organisations and industry experts to explore the skills behind their favourite games.

Running from 24 to 27 October, the free festival will offer visitors the chance to play, create, compete and discover new opportunities in gaming and the creative industries.

• Time: 11am to 4pm daily
• Location: Upper Mall, Centrale
• Entry: Free

There will be plenty to try, from classic arcade games and esports challenges to interactive digital experiences, creative workshops and live podcasting. The BRIT School will host its own BRIT Arcade, showcasing student work and giving visitors the chance to design pixel art characters, experiment with game environments and try an Unreal Engine 5 racing game.

The festival will also bring together Croydon-based organisations working with young people and emerging talent. Local youth charity Reaching Higher will record an episode of its 4 Runners podcast, while UP Creative will share insights into digital and creative careers. Visitors can also hear from people working across gaming and technology about the skills, courses and opportunities that could turn an interest into a future career.

Next Level is designed to make these opportunities accessible to young people and their families, connecting the things they enjoy with the possibilities ahead.

As The Croydon Project continues to look towards the future of the town centre, events like this highlight the role Croydon can play in supporting creativity, celebrating local talent and creating opportunities for the next generation.
