BRIT School Dancers Bring a Burst of Summer to Croydon
Croydon was given an unexpected taste of summer as 50 talented performers from The BRIT School brought colour, music and movement to North End.
On Friday 17 July, dancers from the renowned performing arts and creative industries school took over the town centre for a series of high-energy performances, celebrating the return of Costa Del Croydon.
Visitors were treated to feel-good music, energetic choreography and plenty of summer spirit as the performers transformed North End into a surprise spectacle. Shoppers and visitors stopped to watch, take photos and enjoy the burst of creativity in the heart of Croydon.
The BRIT School is known for nurturing some of the country’s most celebrated creative talent, with alumni including RAYE, Olivia Dean, Loyle Carner, FKA twigs and Tom Holland. Former students have collectively sold more than 280 million albums, generated over 70 billion streams and won major awards including BRITs, Grammys, BAFTAs and Oscars.
The activation was brought to North End in partnership with Centrale & Whitgift and marked the build-up to the return of Costa Del Croydon, the town centre’s popular summer beach experience.
As The Croydon Project progresses, moments like this show how North End can become a stage for culture, performance and community life, bringing new energy to the town centre and celebrating Croydon’s creative spirit.
