Fifteen local groups awarded Croydon Community Grant funding
Fifteen grassroots organisations across Croydon have been awarded funding through the 2026 Croydon Community Grant Fund, supporting projects that will make a real difference in communities across the borough.
Delivered by URW in partnership with Croydon Voluntary Action, the fund will provide grants of up to £1,000 for projects focused on homelessness, safety for women and girls, and opportunities for young people.
This year’s successful projects reflect the energy and variety of Croydon’s voluntary sector, with initiatives ranging from housing advice and wellbeing support to mentoring, creative activity, sport and community safety. Among the groups supported are Keep it Moving, which will run housing workshops for young care leavers, refugees and asylum seekers; Amanah Health and Wellbeing, which will deliver safety masterclasses for women from ethnic minority communities; and Bridging Boundaries, which will provide self-defence workshops for women and girls.
Other funded projects will support people in temporary accommodation, deliver youth safety and bleed-control sessions, and create opportunities through boxing, storytelling, music, the arts and creative enterprise.
The projects will take place across Croydon, including South Norwood, Sanderstead and South Croydon. Running from September 2026 to January 2027, the programme will also give organisations access to specialist support from URW teams, with the opportunity to apply for further funding of up to £5,000 in 2027.
Together, the projects will help strengthen local communities and support some of the borough’s most important priorities.
